lyrics

I’m going out west gonna do my best to be making the most of my time
with a tune on deck and a few in my head I’ve been thinking about a long time
Make no mistake there’s more at stake than really meets the eye
with a baby at home in swaddling clothes it ain’t easy to say goodbye

Everything matters more now

And it always did but when you’re a kid there’s a part of you running blind
you can trip and fall, and lose it all, and feel so far behind
and It isn’t like I didn’t try, I just didn’t always hit the mark
but you can’t undo what’s happened, they're shadows in the dark

Everything matters more now
I’m running back to you beyond a doubt

There’s a pile of wood, and a stack of bills, and the urge to up and go
when the winter wind starts blowing again and bears hide under snow
I want to make good on the things I should but I’m right back at the start
running blind, through the pines, towards the valley of an open heart

Everything matters more now
